Welcome to the 2020 Football season! Registrations are now open for the new season. It is important to note that players have missed out on being placed in teams in previous seasons due to late registrations. This season all registrations take place in the online PlayFootball portal. You may need to create a Football Account but the whole process should take less than 10 minutes. Register here to play for the Leichhardt Saints. We are pleased to let you know that for the 2020 season registration fees will remain the same as 2019, despite fees increasing from the various governing bodies. Also once again all online transaction fees are included in your registration amount. What Age Group to Register in In most cases players should register in the Age Group they are turning that year. For example, if your child turns 10 in 2020 then the most appropriate Age Group is Under 10s. It is also possible for players to play up Age Groups but there is a limit of 2 years. Competitive Age Girls Football In 2020 there will be no Under 13 or Under 15 Girls competitions in the Canterbury Association. This has been done to ensure there are enough teams at every Age Group to enable competitive divisions to be formed. Late Registrations Registrations after the 2nd of February are considered late Registrations. Late registrations will only be accepted in age groups or teams that have space. If you are registering for All Age, O35 or O45 Mens teams it is strongly advised that you register before the 2nd of February as these Age Groups fill very fast. Registering as a Coach or Manager If parents/players are planning to register as a Coach or Manager it is helpful if you could also do this at the same time as they register themselves or their child(ren) through the online rego system. All volunteer Coaches and Managers of Junior teams will need a valid Working with Children Check. Grading and Team Formation 2020 Grading generally applies to age groups from Under 8 and older where there are sufficient number of players wishing to grade. Grading of registered players is expected take place over two weeks beginning 12th February (Venue TBC) players should attend all weeks. The grading process ensures players are in teams with others of a similar standard, as well as helping to select the players for the highest graded team(s) in each age group. It is therefore requested that new players attend the trials, however grading is not compulsory. Contact the Registrar registrar@leichhardtsaints.com or SMS 0403 474 000 |
