Five Saints teams were involved in Finals action on the weekend. The U10/8s went down in a close match with Balmain 0 -1 while the All Age Men Div 4 were locked in a titanic battle with Canterbury at Callan Park, scoreless for long periods before luck completely deserted them with the goal keeper injured and taken off, a goal from the ensuing corner, Saints hitting the post and crossbar, their keeper saving brilliantly before being caught twice on the break in the dying minutes to end 0 – 3. A magnificent match ending with a scoreline not indicative of the play at all.

On Sunday, Saints teams fared much better. The U12/1s dominated their match with Fraser Park who defended stoutly to deny Saints scoring in regular and extra time. The match was decided on penalties 4 – 1 in Saints favour, a match they truly deserved to win. All Age Men Divison 2 dominated against Belmore with a convincing 4 – 0 victory, the match sadly ending with a flurry of red cards to the opposition and some unsavoury moments.

All Age Women Div 2 could not quite play to their potential against a younger Enfield A team and bow out of their competition having played some great football throughout the season. The team has been invited to represent the Canterbury District in the Champion of Champions comp for Over30s. So we congratulate them on this honour.

Grand Final Action next weekend will feature our U10 Girls/2 team, U14/3 team, U12/1 team and All Age Men Div 2. I ask you to get out and support our teams in action in these matches and cheer them home to victory!
