2026 Coaching Courses: MiniRoos & Foundation of Football

⚽️ Level Up Your Coaching for the 2026 Winter Season!

At Leichhardt Saints, we want our players to have the best possible experience on the pitch. To make that happen, we are partnering with Football Canterbury to host professional coaching development sessions right here in our community.

While these courses are run and facilitated by Football Canterbury’s development team, Leichhardt Saints is proud to host them and support our volunteers in attending.

Whether you are a first-time parent-coach or a seasoned veteran, there is a session for you.

1. MiniRoos Coaching Course (U6 – U10)

Perfect for: Volunteer parents and coaches working with novice players or children aged up to 10 years old.

This session focuses on “learning through play.” It’s designed to be fun and practical, giving you the tools to run engaging drills that keep kids excited about football.

2. Foundation of Football Course (U11 – U15+)

Perfect for: Coaches working with intermediate players, or those looking to eventually pursue a Football Australia/AFC C Diploma.

This is a comprehensive, full-day session covering the fundamental playing principles and technical basics of the game. It’s a great way to share experiences with other coaches in a collaborative environment.

  • Host Location: Balmain Road Sporting Ground

  • Date: Saturday, 14th March 2026

  • Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Cost: $100 (Fully reimbursed by Leichhardt Saints upon successful completion!)

If you have a calendar clash, don’t worry! Football Canterbury runs these courses at various club grounds throughout the region (including Mackey Park and Majors Bay Reserve).
