MBF Champion of Champions 2008

Our under 16 Girls, who finished the season as minor premiers of division 1, headed down to South Nowra to represent CDSFA and play the champions of the Shoalhaven Association, on Sunday 14 September.

It was, by all accounts, a very close contest, with our girls, unfortunately, losing to a golden goal right at the end of the second period of extra time. Final score 1-2.

Canteen

Thank You

"As Canteen Manager, I want to personally thank everyone who helped with the canteen this year. From my point of view it ran without a hitch and made it the easiest ever! This would not happen with YOU!

I would however, like to make special mention to one person and one team. Chris, you are a godsend. Carey and I could not have done it without your help on Mondays and Wednesdays week in, week out and Ian and the 8/4s who have 'willingly' done canteen duty 3 times this season. Well done all."

First Aid - Red Cross

Eileen has arranged for the Red Cross to cover the Sunday games at King George.

Please show your appreciation to these volunteers, who are giving up their weekends to help our children. Red Cross is a great Service provider to the Community. You will find them set up under cover beside the canteen when they are in attendance.
An adult should attend with any child that needs first aid assistance, for obvious reasons.

Watch Out - Kids About

Car

Parents please note the progressively earlier twilight times at King George Oval during training. With less light, visibility is greatly reduced, and the carpark is full of children who may not always behave safely and predictably.

Please slow down to accommodate these safety concerns, and watch out, kids about! Being on-time for training (or leaving quickly afterwards) is not important enough to justify risking our childrens' lives!

Saints Apparel

Saints' Polar Fleece

The Saints' wonderful red fleecies are available from the canteen.

They come in children's sizes 10, 12 and 14, and adult sizes are medium, large, XL, XXL and XXXL! Most sizes are now available.

$35 for size 10 and 12
$40 for the rest

Caps are also available for $15.

Callan Park Open Day

Saturday 15 November 2008

Leichhardt Council is planning a guided walking tour of Callan park from 3.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturday 15 November, meeting at the main gates, Balmain Road and Cecily Street.

Walking

The Tour will take approximately two (2) hours walking through Callan Park, taking in sites of interest and hearing from a series of speakers along the way. It is anticipated that the tour will finish at approximately 5.00pm, at which time a BBQ and light refreshments will be provided. A small vehicle will be provided to assist people with mobility problems (however this vehicle is not wheel-chair accessible).

RSVP through the Leichhardt Council website to assist us with catering for the day.

Referees Course

If anyone would like to be paid to be a Referee next season, whether young (13 and over) or old (no limit), a course is being run on Saturday 8th November.
Please see the flyer below:

Presentation Day Report

Leichhardt Saints held our Annual Presentation Day on 14 September, inspite of the inclement weather. The show must go on!

The photo above just about sums up the day. We'd like to thank all those of you who were determined to come, rain, hail or shine. The jumping castle was a welcome addition, particularly as it was about the driest spot to be.

If any player has not yet received their Yearbook (or photo or trophy), they should contact their manager.

July Players Of The Month

The judges couldn't split them so we have two winners of the Callagher Player Of The Month award.

As part of the Callagher Estate Agents principal sponsorship, LSFC members have the opportunity to raise even more funds for the club when they sell or rent their property with Callagher's.

List your property with Callagher Estate Agents and help raise further funds!
